CENTRIFEEDER ICV: OPTIONS

Centriflow Solids Mass Flow Meter Technical Information
The CentriFeeder line of feeders allows for both an accurate, real-time flow measurement, as well as a near perfect control of flow rate and total. For blending applications, control the flow rate of an individual ingredient, or combine several CentriFeeders for near perfect recipe control. If you are controlling ingredients entering a batching process, use the CentriFeeder for controlling the total of one or more ingredients entered into the batch.

Please see below for additional information regarding the various options that are offered for our CentriFeeder ICV. If you do not see an option that suits your particular application, don't worry. We have a variety of options not listed here and we also have an engineering team that is ready to assist with a custom solution for your application, so contact us and we will be happy to assist.

OPTIONS

CENTRIFEEDER ICV OPTIONS

The CentriFeeder ICV is a highly customizable feeder that can be tailored to a variety of applications for nearly any granular product. Below are just a few of the more widely utilized options. For more information on the customizable features available for the CentriFeeder ICV, contact us today.

MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION

CentriFlow Material of Construction
METER CASING AND ENCLOSURE: While the meter casing is typically constructed out of Aluminum, it can also be constructed from Stainless Steel for corrosive resistance as well as for Food Grade applications. The feeder's enclosure is typically manufactured out of Stainless Steel.

FLOW SURFACES: The flow surfaces of the meter, including the Pan and the Tangential/Throat are typically a welded, one-piece assembly which is perfect for food-grade applications. These flow surfaces can also be coated with a variety of coatings that amend the flowability of sluggish products or enhance the wear life of the feeder. For extreme wear protection, ceramic tiles can be used to line the various flow surfaces.

DUST CONTROL

CentriFlow Boot Clamps
AIR PURGE SYSTEM: The Air Purge System, typically used for dust and moisture control, fills the back casing of the feeder with instrument quality air, thereby creating a positive pressure to keep condensation, dust and other matter from interfering with the feeder's measurement and control.

BOOT CLAMPS: Boot clamps seal the Pan Arm Boots ensuring that dust and moisture from the process are unable to enter the rear of the feeder, thus causing erroneous readings or possible damage to the loadcell of the feeder.

FLOW ENHANCEMENT

Liners for flowability
LINERS AND COATINGS: A variety of coatings as well as flow surface materials can be utilized in order to improve the flow of products across the Measurement Pan and other flow surfaces. In addition, a Curved Corner Pan is available for powdery products that could collect in the corners of a standard Pan.

PULSED AIR SYSTEM: The Pulsed Air System was designed to deliver a pulsed blast of dry, instrument air to the area both above and below the Measurement Pan in a manner that will clear product and debris from the Pan's surfaces without adversely affecting the feeder's flow measurement readings. Use of the Pulsed Air System is intended to both assist product flow as well as to eliminate product built up on the Pan, which, if left unchecked, could result in less accurate flow control.

VIBRAWEIGH: The VibraWeigh option, typically used for products that generate powdery residue, keeps small particle size materials (down to 10-50 microns) from building up on the Pan surfaces. The VibraWeigh works by vibrating the Measurement Pan from side to side in a manner that keeps product flowing across the Measurement Pan without building up, while at the same time, not affecting the measurement accuracy of the meter.

EXPLOSION CONTROL

Intrinsic Safety Barriers
INTRINSIC SAFETY BARRIERS: Intrinsic Safety Barriers are used when the CentriFeeder ICV will be installed within a hazardous area and the CentriFeeder electronics will be located within a non-hazardous area in order to isolate the Feeder from its electronics.

EXPLOSION PROOF SYSTEM (CLASS II DIV 2): This explosion proof system is used for installing the CentriFeeder and its electronics within a Class II Div 2 rated area and includes a pressurization or purging system that prevents the entrance of combustible dust into the feeder or its electronics.

EXPLOSION PROOF SYSTEM (CLASS I DIV 2): This explosion system is used for installing the CentriFeeder and electronics within a Class I Div 2 rated area. This option prevents the entrance of flammable gas or vapor from accumulating within the feeder or its electronics by performing a series of four air exchanges and then, applying a positive pressure to the system.
